Pigpen x 6

Today we had the great pleasure of a visit from the Montagues. When good friends are together, who needs toys, who needs fun excursions, or fancy plans? Who needs anything when you have DIRT! And LOTS of it! This summer our backyard had an unfortunate meeting with scorching, dry heat...and lost the battle. So, we have a yard of dry, dusty dirt. The 6 little Ingrams and Montagues decided it was the perfect place to play, dig, scoop, scrape, collect, and eventually begin throwing into dust clouds and running through it. So maybe parental supervision was not 100%, but they had tons of fun and enough supervision to be perfectly safe.

The results were a bit shocking, ending with Mary Clare being nicknamed "Pigpen," as she won the prize for the dirtiest by far.

After about 4 hours, we decided to go to the park, but knew we had to somehow clean up these clowns so people wouldn't think they were street urchins. How should we do this, we asked? We settled on the leaf blower...they covered eyes and ears and we blasted the dirt off of them. Note the giant clouds coming off of Mary Clare, aka Pigpen.

And now for the back...still more dirt.

A little tangled and windblown, they cleaned up nicely, though MC's hair was washed twice later.
